Change and Transition

Blessing the Beginning

God of new mornings, who makes a way where there was no way,

I stand at a beginning — chosen or thrust upon me — with hope and dread mixed in equal parts. Bless the first steps: let them be small, honest and taken in good company. Keep me from demanding that the new thing immediately feel like home; roots take a season. Where I romanticise what I left, correct my memory kindly. Bless this beginning and the beginner. I go forward in hope, one honest mile at a time. Amen.

For reflection — no answer needed

To sit with — nothing to write down
What is ending in your life, and have you let yourself mark it?
To sit with — nothing to write down
What are you in-between right now — and what does this threshold ask of you?
To sit with — nothing to write down
What are you most afraid the change will take, and what might it make possible?
