Healing and Restoration

Prayers held alongside illness, recovery and weariness. This category asks for comfort, strength and renewal while respecting mystery: prayer here is companionship in healing, never a promised cure, and never a replacement for medical or psychological care. Suffering is not framed as a failure of belief.

Healing and Restoration

Companion in the Mending

Source of life, who knows this body better than I do,

I ask for healing, and I ask honestly, knowing you do not deal in guarantees. Be present in the mending: in the medicine and the rest, in the skill of those who care for me, in the slow negotiations of a body doing its best. Where cure comes, let me receive it with gratitude. Where it does not, let me never be told — by anyone, including myself — that I simply believed wrongly. Give me comfort that does not depend on outcomes, and hope that does not require pretending.

In body and spirit, be near. That nearness is my first medicine. Amen.

For reflection — no answer needed

To sit with — nothing to write down
What part of you is asking for kindness rather than improvement?
To sit with — nothing to write down
How has your body been speaking to you lately, and have you been listening?
To sit with — nothing to write down
What does healing mean to you when cure is not promised?
